Do you self-sabotage? We’d instinctively answer “No”. Think again...

In short, self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it does not happen, consciously or unconsciously.

Behaviour is self-sabotaging when it creates problems in our daily life and interferes with our wellbeing.


Why? No one intentionally decides to self-sabotage. Our mind is our best friend and at the same time our worst enemy. So more precisely, our own minds sabotage us. Our deep-rooted beliefs we have developed over time are the reason.


Beliefs, adopted or created, out of a desire to “protect” us from failure, success, rejection, or poverty. Beliefs like “without hard work I will not be successful”, “I'm only loveable if I do certain things…”, "there is something wrong with me", “I don't deserve to be loved”, “my dreams are unreachable”, “I’m not good enough for this position” and so forth.

Here we disregard our intrinsic motivation and deny our personal strengths, so unconsciously sabotage situations and relationships which are good for us.
